The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) and its counterpart, Northern Awareness Network (NAN), have applauded the outcome of the local government elections in Kaduna State, describing them as peaceful, free, and fair.
Both groups commended the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (Kad-Siec) for successfully conducting the elections across the 23 council areas.
In a statement issued by NSCF convener, Comrade Paul Danjuma, areas monitored within Kaduna metropolis showed that the elections proceeded peacefully without any hitches.
He, however, noted that earlier challenges of late arrival of materials were addressed as the elections progressed, allowing voters to exercise their rights unchallenged.
Danjuma said, “We commend the good people of Kaduna State for turning out in large numbers to exercise their rights and vote for leaders of their choice.
“The electoral umpire, KADSIECOM, has done well and must be commended for a job well done, allowing the people to vote peacefully.
“We congratulate the would-be winners and urge those not successful to accept the results in the spirit of sportsmanship.”

The forum urged Kaduna residents to resume normal activities now that the elections are over and advised winners to deliver the dividends of democracy to their local government areas.
He added, “We also commend Governor Uba Sani for providing an enabling environment for peaceful elections in the state.”
The NAN Chairman, Salihu Suleiman, noted that the elections were orderly and transparent, with voters coming out en masse to cast their votes.
“We are pleased to note that voters in Kaduna State demonstrated civic responsibility and commitment to democracy by participating in the elections. Despite challenges from the ongoing security situation, voters adhered to safety protocols and voted peacefully and orderly,” Suleiman added.
He also commended the police and other security agencies for their professional conduct.
He said, “The presence of security agents during the council polls ensured a safe environment for voters to exercise their democratic rights. We appreciate their efforts in maintaining law and order throughout the electoral process.”
Suleiman remarked that the successful conduct of the elections was a testament to the commitment of Kad-Siec and all stakeholders involved.
He urged elected officials to serve the people with integrity and work for the progress of the state.
“NAN remains committed to promoting democracy, good governance, and civic engagement in Northern Nigeria. We will continue to monitor and support efforts to strengthen the electoral process and ensure the voices of the people are heard.
“We once again congratulate Kad-Siec on the successful conduct of the elections and look forward to the positive impact of the newly elected officials on the state’s development,” he said.
