King Charles III landed in the Pacific island of Samoa on Wednesday to preside over a Commonwealth summit, hoping to breathe new life into the 56-nation post-colonial bloc.

Charles, who arrived in the island’s capital Apia after a six-day visit to Australia, is set to join a string of cultural events in Samoa on Thursday before participating in the summit on Friday.
