Ali described the disaster as a “major human tragedy,” and reiterated commitment towards ensuring sustain news coverage in Borno in view of its pivotal role in the North-East region
The manager director commended the resilience of local communities amid challenging aftermath of the disaster, adding that: “NAN cannot stand by while its services to the North-East are affected.
“Our priority is to gain firsthand insight into the damage caused by these floods and to ensure that our operations in Borno, as the historic capital of the old North-East remain uninterrupted,” he said.

Ali underscored the importance of Borno as strategic news hub, stressing that NAN presence was essential for delivering accurate and timely information to the public.
He, therefore, urged the Borno government to support the agency in securing a befitting office accommodation to meet its needs.
“Our objective is to reestablish a fully equipped workspace in Borno, to enhance our coverage and enable our journalists to deliver news effectively, despite the challenges,” he said.
Ali was accompanied in the visit by the management team of the agency as part of a nationwide tour to evaluate and strengthen its infrastructure.
