Sheneya Wilson, the visionary Founder and CEO of Fola Financial LLC, has extended her transformative initiative, the Tax Essentials Learning Program (T.E.L.P), to Nigeria, partnering with Temitope Akinsemoyin, founder of Stanchion TM Consults NG.
Certified by the IRS, T.E.L.P aims to build a foundation of tax knowledge among Nigerians, fostering greater involvement in the tax system and catalysing economic growth.

A Certified Public Accountant with a mission to empower small business owners, investors, and emerging professionals, Wilson sees this move as essential for economic upliftment. Nigeria’s current tax-to-GDP ratio of 9.2% falls short of the 15% average for developing countries, making T.E.L.P an invaluable resource for progress in fiscal accountability.
The programme’s inaugural graduation ceremony took place on October 29th, 2024, in Lagos, celebrating the first cohort of five graduates: Adeniji Mariam, Iwuoha Bernard Ezenwa, Oladele Oyekanmi, Egbewale Jesujuwon Samuel, and Jude Odianosen Atalobhor. Their achievement is not just a personal milestone; it marks the beginning of a movement towards enhancing tax accountability and transparency in Nigeria.

Opeyemi Alabi, Senior Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization and Development to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwolu, was in attendance and emphasized the importance of skill and human capacity development among the state’s youth, who make up over 12 million of its population.
“Investing in our youth through programs like T.E.L.P is vital for creating a robust economy,” Alabi stated.
Wilson and Akinsemoyin are not stopping here. They have announced the upcoming FOLA FIN CON NIGERIA, set to take place in Lagos and Abuja on December 2nd, 3rd, and 9th. This event aims to further engage and empower financial professionals across the continent.

Sheneya Wilson’s commitment to fostering economic enrichment and financial education positions her as a significant asset to both the American and African Black communities. Her work not only promotes individual success but also aims to uplift entire economies by advocating for a more informed and participatory citizenry.

As Nigeria faces economic challenges, initiatives like T.E.L.P offer hope for a fiscally responsible future, with Sheneya Wilson leading the charge toward a more equitable economy.
