The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has confirmed the release of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, one of their member and registrar in the Ophthalmology Department, at the National Eye Centre (NEC), Kaduna, who was abducted by terrorists ten months ago.

NARD spokesperson Omoha Amobi, in a statement, expressed the relief and joy felt by NARD’s President, Dr. Osundara Tope Zenith, and others, saying, “We are filled with immense joy and relief to inform you that Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, our dear colleague, has been released and reunited with her family.”

Amobi thanked everyone who contributed to her safe return.

Dr. Popoola, her husband, and a relative were abducted in December last year.

Her husband was released in March, leaving her and the other relative in captivity until now.
