
Chief Olanrewaju Sharafa, FCA, Founder, Tayese Academy of Arts and Culture London(TAAC) viz-a-viz, Tayese of Ede, has reaffirmed his commitment to support the mission of Timi of Ede’s palace.
Chief Olanrewaju made the pledge at a ceremonial visit to the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adesola Lawal (Laminisa I), the Timi of Ede, on Sunday.
He was warmly received by the palace in company of a delegation of esteemed yoruba film and culture figures, including legendary actor, Alhaji Babatunde Bamgbode, known as Baba Fokoko, Ms. Racheal Iwalewa, fondly called Mummy Go, and several others.
The atmosphere was filled with mutual respect and anticipation for a fruitful partnership with the palace.
Chief Olanrewaju said the support would be done through charity work and international promotion of the Yoruba arts and culture.
“I am proud to be a son of this palace, and also dedicated to elevating the yoruba culture on the global stage,” he said.
The Tayese ambassador appreciated the Kabiesi, his Olori, and the entire royal household for their efforts in preserving the rich heritage of the yoruba culture.
In her welcome address, HRM Olori Aishat Omowunmi Lawal commended Chief Olanrewaju for visiting the palace and lauded his efforts in preserving Yoruba heritage both in the UK and worldwide.
The queen noted that the palace is proud of Olanrewaju and holds his role as a cultural ambassador in high esteem, while urging him to maintain a strong connection to his roots.
She expressed hope to see Chief Olanrewaju formally honored as Tayese of Ede land, emphasising his value as a “golden son” of Ede.
She said: “Remember that you are Tayese of Ede land before becoming the Tayese of London.
“Please visit Ede regularly, engage with our community, and support our people in any way you can.
“We pray that God Almighty will guide you in all aspects of your life and endeavors.
In a vote of thanks, Babatunde Bamgbode (Baba Fokoko) appreciated the kindness and support extended by the Timi, the Olori, and the royal household.
Ms. Racheal Iwalewa (Mummy G.O) also expressed gratitude for the warm reception, while looking forward to future collaborations.
The visit of Tayese to the palace, centered on strengthening cultural ties, marked a collaborative step toward advancing yoruba arts, heritage, and culture.
The delegation toured the palace, while the visit concluded with a vibrant display of cultural chants and traditional dance, to celebrate a renewed partnership that promises to inspire and sustain yoruba culture.
