The Kano State High Court heard yesterday that Ibrahim-Abdullahi, a resident of Jaba Quarters, allegedly committed the offences on August 1, 2024, at his chemist shop in Panisau Quarters.

Prosecutor Lamido Abba-Sorondinki informed the court that the victim’s father had brought the young girl to the defendant’s shop seeking treatment for malaria. It is alleged that Ibrahim-Abdullahi then raped the minor, resulting in her death.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges. Justice Zuwaira Yusuf adjourned the case until December 9 for a hearing and ordered that Ibrahim-Abdullahi be remanded in a correctional centre until that date.

The charges contravene Sections 221 and 283 of the Penal Code.
