The Law Society of Lesotho has engaged its Nigerian counterpart, the Nigerian Law Society (NLS) in drafting an amendment to the Legal Practitioners Act of Lesotho.
The President of the Law Society of Lesotho, Advocate Linkle Tuke, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NLS, represented by Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja in the capital city of Maseru, Lesotho last week.
“By virtue of this MoU, NLS would be doing continuing legal education programmes for them and we are currently helping them to draft amendments to their Legal Practitioners Act, which makes NLS a member of the Selection Committee for conferment of the rank of King’s Counsel (equivalent of our own SAN) on lawyers from Lesotho,” Dr Jaja explained.
