APP wins councilorship seat in Jigawa
The Action People’s Party (APP) has won the councillorship seat of Buntusu ward in the Gwiwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The Chairman, Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Auwalu Harbo, announced APP candidate, Usman Ali, as the duly elected councilor following his victory in the Jigawa local government election of October 5.
The victory followed the APP’s success in the local government elections in Rivers State, where the party won 22 chairmanship positions out of 23 and 314 councillorship seats out of 317.
Reacting, APP National Chairman, Uchenna Nnadi, said the current victory and the landslide victory they had in Rivers is proof that the party is here to stay.
He expressed confidence that with the election’s success, the party will do better in different regions during future elections.
“Once again I’m happy and elated about our party’s victory in the just concluded Jigawa State Local Government election. I thank Jigawa people and all party faithful for believing in our party,” Nnadi said.
“We are steadily moving forward. I’m optimistic that officials elected under our great party will perform well and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
“I congratulate the winners and urge all party stakeholders to work together. When we are united, we can be stronger across all regions.”
