The occasion was the climax of the yearly Women’s Week with the theme, “Harnessing Potentials of Muslim Women as Catalyst for Societal Safety and Economic Development.” It showcased the invaluable role of women in fostering societal growth and harmony.
Also, the wife of the state governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, represented by wife of the Chairman of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaja Shakirat Bayewu, applauded NASFAT women for their positive impact in Lagos and beyond.
She expressed gratitude to Allah (SWT) and urged participants to prioritize education and inspire others through positive actions in their communities.
The National Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Ganiyat Omowumi Babalola, highlighted the week’s activities, which focused on empowering women through training and capacity-building initiatives.
She appealed to the government for enhanced support to safeguard women’s rights and promote their contributions to economic development.
Professor Khadijah Olaniyan-Shobowale of Lagos State University (LASU) encouraged women to maximize their resources to nurture their families and communities. She emphasized the importance of leading by example in guiding the younger generation toward impactful future.
The Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, led prayers for the success of the event, NASFAT, and Nigeria at large. The spiritual reflections underscored NASFAT’s commitment to holistic societal advancement.
NASFAT President, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, lauded the organizers for selecting a theme that aligned with NASFAT’s L.E.A.D. policy (Leadership, Empowerment, Agent of Change & Da’wah 2.0). He reaffirmed the society’s dedication to empowering women as agents of positive transformation.
