SON issues MANCAP certificates to 20 companies for 83 products in Anambra

The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), has issued Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) to 20 companies for 83 products in Anambra.

Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, the Director General of SON in his keynote address, said the event was a celebration of excellence, innovation and commitment of local manufacturers to meet and surpass standards.

Okeke, who was represented by Mr. Chinedu Agafie, Director, Anambra Regional Operations, said MANCAP ensured that all locally manufactured products complied with Nigerian Industrial Standards before they were introduced into the market.

The companies were Success Foam and Chemical Ltd, Okey and Leens Company, Somphutip Ltd, Ken Maduakor Ltd,, Sabrud Consortium, Frank Doris bread, F C Morning Star Ltd, Ebsunny Ltd, Blessed Success Ltd and Scalite Ltd.

Others were De-Eze Packaging Ltd, Reliable Steel and Plastics Ltd, Eastern Distilleries & Food Ltd, Group Enterprises Ltd, Sunness Craft Ventures, Evepon Ltd, Dozzy Oil and Gas Ltd,, Specialty Oil Company Ltd and Harichidex Enterprises.

Agafie, who handed over certificates to the beneficiaries, said it also protected customers, foster fair competition and reinforced the integrity of the manufacturing sector.

“The companies receiving these certificates have shown that with determination and the right support, Nigerian industries can meet global standards and contribute significantly to our nation’s economic growth.

“Today’s event also features an exhibition of products, providing a platform for manufacturers to showcase their innovations and quality achievements.

“I must emphasize that standards are dynamic, constantly evolving to meet technological expectations, so we must view compliance with standards as an ongoing commitment.

“Today, we recognize and celebrate 20 companies and 83 brand of products that have demonstrated excellence by achieving MANCAP certification or recertification.

“These awards are more than just certificates; they are a reflection of hard work, adherence to best practices, and a shared vision for quality and sustainability,” he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, Mr. Emmanuel Husseni, the State Coordinator, Anambra State Office said beyond certifying manufacturing processes, SON also offered other services which supported company operations.

Husseni said the services included calibration of all measuring and measurement equipment to give the right quantity as well as management system certification.

According to him, the certification of the entire production system gives access to international market and reduce management.

The Coordinator congratulated the companies and promised that SON would continue to provide support that would help them thrive and remain competitive.

Responding on behalf of others, Mr. Okechukwu Ubanwa, Managing Director of Success Foam said they were happy to receive the certification after rigorous processes.

Ubanwa said he was happy that his product could now compete in local and international markets.
