
Award-winning filmmaker Izu Ojukwu gears up to bring history to the big screen with his upcoming film 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy, as excitement mounts and audiences eagerly await its official premiere set for 2025.
The film unveiled at an exclusive and intimate gathering in Lagos, delves into the intrigues surrounding the 1977 Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC), rekindling nostalgic memories of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

Speaking at the event, Ojukwu expressed his excitement about the film, describing it as “a journey into one of the most iconic moments in Nigeria’s cultural history.”
Chief Content Officer of FilmOne Entertainment, Ladun Awobokun, also shared her excitement, stating, “This film is not just a continuation of 76, but a powerful exploration of African identity, culture, and the strength of our stories. We are thrilled to bring this important narrative to audiences across the globe, showcasing the depth and richness of Nigeria’s cultural legacy.”

The evening featured discussions led by the film’s director, Ojukwu; cast members Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic, Adonijah Owiriwa, and Soibifaa Dokubo; writer Mr. Olisa Eloka; and executive producer Princewill.
They explored the role of arts and storytelling in preserving history, leaving attendees reflecting on the lasting impact of FESTAC ’77 on African identity.
