Fubara emphasised the importance of working with experts to ensure efficient and impactful project delivery, stating that his administration “values partnerships that provide the best for the people of Rivers State. Quantity surveyors bring the expertise needed to complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.”

He reiterated his commitment to the professional growth of quantity surveyors in the state’s civil service. “We’ll ensure quantity surveyors get the certifications and training they need to perform at their best, not just locally but anywhere in the world,” he added.

NIQS President, Kene Nzekwe, praised the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, highlighting the Port Harcourt Ring Road project as a major milestone. “This project, covering six local councils, shows your administration’s commitment to bringing development to every corner of the state,” Nzekwe said.

He also commended the government’s efforts in education, healthcare, and economic diversification, describing them as “bold steps toward long-term growth.” Nzekwe also highlighted the essential role of quantity surveyors in infrastructure projects.

“Quantity surveyors are indispensable professionals in the construction industry, specialising in cost management, ensuring financial efficiency, and maintaining the fiscal integrity of projects,” he said.

He encouraged the state to engage quantity surveyors in every phase of its projects, assuring that their expertise would lead to timely and cost-effective results.

“We’re to ensure financial efficiency, reduce wastage, and maximise value for every naira spent,” Nzekwe said.

He also called on the governor to support the state’s chapter to play a key role in professional development and community engagement. “Your support for the chapter will strengthen the profession and, by extension, contribute to the growth of the state,” he added.
