FG offers free medicare to 1,000 Bauchi residents
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Pate and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), in partnership with the National Assembly, have offered free medical services to more than 1,000 residents of the Dass community in Bauchi State.
The outreach was held at the General Hospital, Dass, yesterday, where patients received essential services, including general outpatient consultations, free medications and assistive devices. Also, various surgeries were conducted for free.
A Consultant Gynecologist with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi, Dr Abdullahi Muhammad Kabir, who led the team, explained the importance of the interventions in addressing healthcare gaps and providing care to under-served communities.
According to him, the exercise was to alleviate the suffering of patients, who could not afford treatment, while also promoting overall community health. “
“This initiative demonstrates the power of teamwork in delivering healthcare services. I appreciate every member of the team for their hard work, and I hope this outreach inspires further interventions to reach even more people in need.
“The support we received from partners, sponsors, and volunteers has made a tremendous difference in achieving the programme’s goals. Their dedication to improving healthcare delivery is truly commendable,” Kabir added.
