Fatima College Ikire Old Boys’ Association (FACOBA), Osun State, have appealed to the Federal and state governments to expedite action on the return of mission schools to original owners.
The outgoing President of FACOBA, Henry Otoibhi, and his successor, Olugbenga Ajayi, made the call while speaking at the yearly general meeting of the association.
Otoibhi, who led the association from 2021 to 2024, said the government should consider returning the schools to missionaries, who are the original owners.
“President Bola Tinubu should issue an Executive Order for the return of those schools to original owners,” Otoibhi stated. Ajayi, in his remarks, promised to embrace an all-inclusive leadership, and collaboration with stakeholders.
The Chief Executive Officer of Petrocam Training Nigeria Limited, Dr Patrick Ilo, who renovated the school’s administrative block, said the gesture was a symbol of the members commitment to the values that that the college represents, including excellence, compassion, and service. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration and generosity, as we come together to create a better learning environment for our students,” Ilo added.
