A 52-year-old man, Solomon Ajiboye, on Friday, appeared before an Ojo Magistrate Court in Lagos, for allegedly obtaining the sum of N310,000 under false pretences.

The defendant was charged before Magistrate Mr L.K.J Layeni, on a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretences and stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between Sept. 15 and Oct. 20, in Muwo Ojo area of Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant fraudulently obtained the sum of N310,000 from one Mr Ikenna Oguegbu, under the pretext of constructing chairs for him.

He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Jan. 16, 2025 for mention.
