GOtv Boxing Night 32: ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Eyes N1m cash prize

Super featherweight boxer, Sikiru Shogbesan, also known as ‘Omo Iya Eleja’, has set his sights on claiming the prestigious Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and the N1 million cash prize to be won by the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 32.

Super featherweight boxer, Sikiru Shogbesan, also known as ‘Omo Iya Eleja’, has set his sights on claiming the prestigious Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and the N1 million cash prize to be won by the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 32.

The event is scheduled for December 26 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

‘Omo Iya Eleja’ will face Imole ‘System’ Oloyede in a national super featherweight challenge bout.

The event will provide six electrifying bouts and live entertainment by Afrobeats stars Mayorkun, YKB, and the comedic brilliance of MC Lively.

Sogbesan said, “I am a testament to the impact of GOtv Boxing Night. I turned professional on this platform, but I’m yet to win the best boxer prize. This year, my aim is to break the jinx. This fight is more than just a challenge for me. It’s my chance to win in style and claim the star prize.”

Sogbesan has a record of 17 wins, three losses, and one draw from his 21 professional fights .

Also scheduled for the night is a national super welterweight title fight between Lateef ‘Enuoshe’ Azeez and Rasheed ‘Fally Boy’ Adeyemo, while Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun face off with Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu in the light welterweight category.

The other bouts will see Akintunde Abolade square up against Emmanuel Abimbola in the national super flyweight category; Taiwo ‘Gentle Boy’ Olowu will confront Jafaru ‘Tanka’ Suleiman in a national super welterweight challenge, while Kehinde Owoeye and Emmanuel Bamidele will face-off in the amateur flyweight category.

GOtv Boxing Night 32 is organised by Flykite Productions and proudly sponsored by GOtv. The event will be broadcast live on SuperSport channels, reaching audiences in over 50 African countries.
