Akinyemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, has raised the alarm that hoodlums took advantage of the fire incident at the popular spare parts market “Iso Part” at Agodi in the state capital.

Goods worth millions of naira and property were destroyed in the market during the fire outbreak.
Akinyinka stated that while his men were trying to extinguish the fire, hoodlums in their hundreds attacked them, subjecting them to embarrassment and harassment.

He said, “Hoodlums have broken into shops at Araromi Agodi-Gate, and they are embarrassing and harassing men and officers of the Fire Service.”

Akinyinka noted that the fire started around 2 a.m. and continued to rage until the Fire Service arrived and put it out.
The cause of the fire in the spare parts market is still unclear, as an investigation is underway to determine the source of the inferno.
