The Kano state government will launch a five-year multi-sectoral investment strategy to attract investments and boost revenue generation.
Director-General of Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), Muhammad Naziru Halliru, who dropped the hint while briefing journalists in Kano, explained that the blueprint was designed to attract local and foreign investors to deploy their resources in key economic sectors and viable commercial deposits in the ancient city.
He said Kan-Invest plans to leverage the huge economic deposits in energy, agriculture, health, education, transportation and other areas of trade, industries and manpower.
According to the DG, the agency, through the approval of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, will hold an elaborate event to unveil the strategic plan to open Kano’s window of opportunities to potential business partners within and outside the continent.
He said the agency will soon embark on an enlightenment campaign for local investors and ensure an enabling environment amid incentivised packages.
Part of the incentives, the government pledged, include easy access to land, friendly services and tax waivers.
