Insurgencies, insecurity to end in 2025, CDS tells personnel

Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has described 2025 as a year to end banditry, terrorism and other forms of insecurity in Nigeria. General Musa acknowledged the fact that the military personnel have done well in securing the territorial integrity of the country, adding that they should do more this year to put behind them anything known as banditry or terrorism.

He stated this on Saturday when he visited the troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in the Mangu Local Council Area of Plateau State. He emphasised that they have done much in the area of security, advising that they should not rest on their oars, as much is still being expected of them to totally put to rest any form of insurgency.

The CDS appreciated the conduct of the troops, adding that they must also show this by eliminating completely any form of insecurity in the land.

According to him, his visit is to appreciate and boost the morale of the troops to let them know that the Nigerian government and the entire military are watching them with keen interest. Musa inspected the recovered arms and ammunition by the troops of OPSH in Mangu and also inspected the guard of honour mounted for him .

The CDS, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Jos and OPSH Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and the troops embarked on a push-up exercise to show their combat readiness any time. The CDS left Kaduna State for Plateau where a similar exercise was earlier embarked upon.
