Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday, with a senior government source telling AFP the embattled premier has decided to step down.
Ahead of the news conference scheduled for 10:45 am (1545 GMT), the source said “it’s a done deal that he is leaving… It’s now just about how.”
The source did not immediately indicate whether Trudeau would resign as Liberal party leader and stay on as a caretaker prime minister.
