Alakija dissociates self from AI-generated video promoting weight loss product
The Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, Folorunsho Alakija, has dissociated herself from an AI-generated video and audio promoting a weight loss product called Lipocarnit.
According to the billionaire, the video, shared on “a fraudulent Facebook page, Cosy Decide 11,” was designed to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
In a post on X, Alakija stated that she has no affiliation with the page, adding that she has never endorsed or promoted any weight loss product, including Lipocarnit.
“The videos and voice being used are maliciously created using AI,” she said, adding that it is “a gross misuse of technology and an attack on my person and reputation.”
She encouraged everyone to report the page to Facebook to protect others from falling victim.
“If you have been contacted or scammed by this page, I urge you to report it to Facebook and relevant authorities,” she added.
