Igbo group endorses Okiro as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) on Thursday endorsed the aspiration of the former Inspector General of Police, (IGP), Mike Okiro as president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

It stated that Okiro has what it takes to move the organisation to greater heights, stressing that he had excelled in previous assignments.

President general of the group, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, in a statement he endorsed with the Woman leader, Chief (Mrs) Evelyn Okere Onyung said Okiro is eminently qualified for the office and should be elected.

According to the group; “Okiro is a signature of exemplary and impactful leadership and a beacon of hope and an innovator who brings fresh and assuring perspectives to the table.

“His actions and activities reminds us of the profound impact one individual can have on the collective journey of humanity.

“Chief Okiro is a man that has created a legacy that is not merely in self accomplishment but is in the lives he has touched and the enduring inspiration he provides to countless people, within and far beyond his circle.”

The group said that Okiro has demonstrated consistent excellence in service to humanity and had always acted with integrity, humility, transparency, and a passion for the advancement of collective interests.

“He possesses the vision and practical approach needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities facing Ndigbo, and we are confident that under his leadership, Ndigbo will see growth, unity, development and progress.

“One of the key strengths of Chief Okiro is that he is a selfless leader who is ready to make sacrifices for the betterment of his people.

“His antecedents proves that his doors are open to whoever that wants to see him which is a major attribute of a good leader. This, combined with his ability to build strong relationships and create inclusive solutions, makes him the ideal candidate to lead Ndigbo into the future.”

They said that in Igbo land, where the need for transformative leadership is urgent, Okiro’s uniqueness is a valuable asset, adding that they were convinced that he would serve with dedication, inclusivity, and respect for the values that defines Ndigbo.
