Don sets agenda for newly elected Ohanaeze president

The Founder/Proprietor of Gregory University Uturu, Abia State, Professor Gregory Ibe, has set an agenda for Senator Azuta Mbata, the new President-General (PG) of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.

Senator Mbata emerged as the first/pioneer PG of Rivers State extraction/origin on Friday (January 10, 2025) during a meeting at the Enugu national headquarters of the socio-cultural organization in the presence of the South East States governors, among other members and top Igbo leaders.

Professor Ibe, in his goodwill/congratulatory message to PG Mbata, told him that his “leadership is crucial at this critical juncture in our history when we are seeking to build an all-inclusive nation, free of discrimination, segregation, and marginalisation.”

He further told him that as the first President-General from Ikwerre in Rivers State, a lot is expected from his leadership, adding, however, that his “vast experience in politics, policy, and diplomacy as a former senator will undoubtedly serve the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization well.”

“As the first President-General from Ikwerre in Rivers State, a lot is expected from your leadership. I have no doubt that your wealth of experience and expertise will be invaluable in promoting and projecting the unity, cultural heritage, and socio-economic development of our people.”

Professor Ibe assured the new PG of his partnership and support in driving the common goals and objectives of Ndigbo, and urged the entire Igbo nation to rally behind Mbata in ensuring unity of purpose and collective achievement of their communally set targets.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to you on your historic emergence as the 13th President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, made even more remarkable by the voice voting exercise that confirmed your leadership,” added the GUU Proprietor.
