Foundation awards scholarships to children of fallen heroes

The Charles Bebeye Ndiomu Foundation (CBNF) has announced the award of scholarships to 14 outstanding students under the 2024/25 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Scholarship Scheme. This yearly initiative, deeply rooted in the spirit of gratitude and honour, serves as a beacon of hope for the children of our nation’s fallen heroes.

Through this programme, CBNF reaffirms its unwavering commitment to preserving the legacy of sacrifice by ensuring the children of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom are not denied access to quality education due to financial constraints. This year’s scholarships symbolised more than just financial aid; they are a testament to the resilience and potential of these young individuals, standing as living legacies of courage and service.

“This initiative is a tribute to the bravery of our fallen Armed Forces personnel. By investing in the education of their children, we carry forward their dreams and aspirations. It is also made possible through the generous contributions of the Board of Trustees of the CBNF,” said a spokesperson for the foundation.

Among this year’s recipients are exceptional students from diverse locations in Nigeria such as Mathias Michelle from Benue State, attending Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo; Onyewuchi Micheal from Imo State, attending Air Force Secondary School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State; Usman Idi Abdulrahman from Bauchi State, a student at Amir and Amira International College; Haruna Ummukursum, also from Bauchi State, attending Aliyu Academy Bauchi; and Elom Ebenezer from Ebonyi State, attending Command Day Secondary School, Ikeja. These students, alongside others on the list, have not only proven their academic excellence but also embody the promise of a brighter future.
