The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has engaged employers of the corps members in Gombe State, in a renewed bid to enhance their welfare and security.

Mrs Chinwe Nwachukeu, the Coordinator of the scheme in the xtate, said this at a one-day sensitisation exercise on Thursday in Gombe.

She said the scheme observed lack of awareness on the part of corps employers and corps members, hence the exercise to sensitise them to their responsibilities.

The director said the exercise was designed not only to appreciate the partnership between the scheme and the employers, rather to identify challenges in corps members administration and proffer solutions.

“NYSC Management deemed it fit to organise this roundtable because we have noticed a lack of awareness on the part of corps employers and corps members too on the workings and expectations of the scheme.

“ We are also aware that feedback is necessary hence this meeting; it is hoped that at the end of the discussion, we will be better informed as to our right and duties.

“We also hope that perceived lapses on the part of the NYSC Management Gombe will be brought forward for us to trash it out,” she said.

Nwachuku commended the Gombe government, the NYSC team and other stakeholders for their supports toward the security and welfare of corps members in the state.
