
The International of Lions Clubs (District 404B2 Nigeria), Lagos Pacific Lions Club, recently held its investiture of the newly-elected president and other officers for 24/25 Lion Service Year (LSY).
The event was laced with pomp and pageantry, as the officers led by the newly- elected President, Dr.Rasaq Yemisi Anita were installed into office for the 2024-2025 LSY.
The ceremony took place at the Legacy Hall, Awolowo Road, Ikeja Local Government Secretariat.
Some of the officers in attendance included, Arowosaye Shakirat (second vice president); Adekunle Adeleke, Fashina Bolanle, Franca Giwa, CP Bisi Edu and Adewunmi-Bello Oladunni the Lions Charity International Foundation (NLCF); Dr. Nasir IPP, Taofeek Ayedun
The District Governor, Tolulope Senbanjo, while addressing the president, in particular, said: “My dear president, I want to congratulate and appreciate your donation to the Lions Charity International Foundation (LCIF) while decorating her with the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship (PMJF) pin.
He further stated that in addition, it is important to inform the general public and the guests, who might be interested in joining our noble cause that Lions Club District 404B2 is ready to have them serve a community in need to create a lasting impact together.
The President, Dr. Anita Yemisi Rasaq in her acceptance speech, thanked God for the opportunity to witness her investiture ceremony. She said she was most honoured to be elected the fourth president of Lagos Pacific Lions Club and that with the help of the Board members and Fellow Club members, she would do her best to meet and surpass the task at hand.
She said: Dearest Lions and wonderful guests, the love and support that I have received so far, I, Dr.Rasaq Anita Yemisi, humbly accept to serve as your president for 24/25 Lion Year…”
