Wahab: The rising star bringing fire to Afrobeats

For Wahab Sule, known in the music scene simply as Wahab, music is more than just a dream, it is a destiny unfolding. Born in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, he grew up as the first child in a family of five. While he pursued a degree in Computer Science Education at Auchi Polytechnic (in affiliation with Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka), his heart was always drawn to music. Now, with the release of his singles Move Body and Paramode, Wahab is ready to leave his mark on the Afrobeats landscape.

His passion for music took a defining turn during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Lagos. It was there, on the camp stage, that he experienced a moment of pure connection with his audience. “Even though they didn’t know my song, I saw some girls vibing to my performance the first time they heard it,” he recalls. “That moment made me feel good. It was a sign that my music had the power to move people.”

Determined to build on that energy, Wahab entered the studio with two friends, ready to create something special. The result was Move Body, a song that he describes as his official introduction to the world. “This song is my stepping stone,” he says. “It’s my way of showing the world that I have what it takes to succeed as an artist.” Produced by Chech and mixed by Bianozbeat, the track was born out of spontaneity. With a beat playing in the background, Wahab crafted the chorus and verses effortlessly, shaping a vibrant sound that sets the stage for his musical journey.

But for Wahab, Afrobeats is more than just beats and rhythms—it is a movement, a culture, and an identity. He believes the genre’s continued global rise depends on artists staying true to their roots. “Afrobeats is already on the world stage, but we need to take it even further,” he explains. “The key is consistency and authenticity. We must not dilute our sound. Our culture is our strength, and that’s what will make us take over the world.”

Wahab dreams of collaborating with Afrobeats legends like Burna Boy and Wizkid, as well as international superstars. As he sets his sights on the future, he promises his fans an exciting project in the works. “I’m coming with fire and energy,” he says confidently. “This is just the beginning. My music will speak for itself.”
