Panic as woman’s lifeless body found in Lafia

A sense of unease has gripped Ombi 1, a community within the Lafia North Development Area, following the discovery of the lifeless body of an unidentified woman behind a compound on Saturday morning.

The area, which houses the Mustapha Agwai State Polytechnic, Lafia, is known for recurring criminal activities, including cultism. Sources revealed that the victim was brutally murdered before her body was dragged from a junction and dumped behind a compound in the community. The identity of the deceased remains unknown, as no belongings apart from her clothing were found on her.

Speaking on the incident, Police Investigation Officer (IPO), Polytechnic Police Stattion, Titus Jacob confirmed that an investigation has commenced. He called on members of the public to assist in identifying the deceased, urging anyone with information to contact the police.

Jacob appealed to the public, saying: “We encourage anyone who can help identify the victim or has information regarding the case to reach out to the Investigating Police Officer on 08078434101.”

This discovery comes barely a week after the murder of Salome Adaidu, who was killed by her boyfriend, Timilehin Ajayi, in the state, further heightening fears among residents of Ombi 1.
