The suspended pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, has launched a new ministry in Lagos called The Family Fellowship.
The new ministry held a service at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday and a video from the service showed the clergyman and members of the church dancing and jubilating.
The launch comes months after Iluyomade was suspended by the management of the RCCG for throwing a birthday party for his wife.
The party was met with criticism from many because it was held a few weeks after the death of Herbert Wigwe, a businessman and member of the City of David parish.
The gesture by the Iluyomades was considered insensitive to the family of Wigwe, a significant supporter of the church who died in a helicopter crash.
This prompted a suspension from the RCCG Governing Council which reassigned him to the church’s headquarters in Ebute Metta.
