Allocate more funds to health sector, FG told
Chairman of Ethan School of Health Technology, Dr Godspower Etinosa, has called on the government at all levels to increase budgetary allocation on health in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Etinosa, who spoke at the second matriculation of the school held at the school’s auditorium at Egan, Ikotun Local Council Area, Lagos State, yesterday, noted that if health facilities in Nigeria were upgraded, it would discourage Nigerian politicians from travelling abroad for medical treatment.
 Â
He disclosed that Ethan School of Health Technology established two hospitals where community health workers would be trained to contribute to the Nigerian healthcare delivery system.
 Â
He disclosed that another Ethan School of Health Technology had been planted in the United Kingdom where health workers would be employed from Nigeria and other parts of the world.
He said: “We have now applied for licences to commence operations. With the establishment of this institute, we will be able to recruit health workers from Nigeria and other parts of the world.”
 Â
He urged the 72 matriculating students to get ready for a serious academic session, adding: “Our character will define us and set us apart”.
 Â
“Our character is not just a set of traits. It is the foundation with which we build our lives and careers.  “It encompasses qualities like integrity, perseverance and empathy. They are crucial tools that can lead us to success both personally and professionally.”In her address, the Provost of the School, Dr Ajibade Adesola, charged the new matriculating students to be prepared for the task ahead.
