Foundation completes vital sanitation projects in Nigerian schools

The Blue Door Scholars Foundation (BDSF) has completed the construction of its second set of bathroom facilities at two schools in Enugu State, marking a significant milestone in its mission to improve educational infrastructure in Nigeria.
The foundation, led by American Chief Executive Officer, Alan Singleton, has a unique connection to the region.
After discovering his ancestral ties to Nigeria’s Igbo people through DNA testing, Singleton was inspired to address critical infrastructure needs in Enugu State’s education system.
“Safe, dignified sanitation facilities are fundamental to creating an environment where students can focus on learning,” said Singleton.
“When I learned of my connection to the Igbo people, I knew I wanted to make a meaningful contribution to the community, starting with these essential needs.”
The newly completed facilities feature modern plumbing and secure entryways, serving children and staff daily.
Local school administrators report that the improved infrastructure has already had a positive impact.
Building on this success, the foundation plans to expand its reach throughout 2025, with additional school infrastructure projects under consideration.
The foundation intends to work closely with local communities and education authorities to identify schools with the most pressing needs.
While Nneoma Ifeanyi Ossai with email address [email protected] is expected to be contacted for further information about the organisation, the foundation pledged commitment to improving educational infrastructure in Nigerian schools, with a particular focus on Enugu State.
