
Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested three suspects allegedly found in possession of a human skull, a native hen, and white garments along the Okigwe-Umuahia Express Road.
The suspects, identified as Patrick Okoere (29), Ifeanyichukwu Anyaemeka (28), and Chukwuemeka Onyekachi (20), were apprehended by officers of the Okigwe Divisional Headquarters in collaboration with residents of the Ogii community.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Patrick confessed that his uncle, Osunta Oko, had commissioned him to procure a human skull. He further disclosed that the skull was retrieved from a riverbank in the area, which has reportedly been a hotspot for kidnappings.
Okoye added that a DNA test would be conducted to ascertain the identity of the skull’s owner. He assured that investigations were ongoing to track Osunta Oko and any accomplices linked to the case.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, reaffirmed the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety of residents, pledging that justice would be served and the suspects prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
