A motor boy has been confirmed dead following a road crash that occurred on February 15, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m. along the Benin-Sagamu Expressway, near the Gas Station Company, Ogbere Junction, Ogun State.

The Ogbere Divisional Police Headquarters reported yesterday that the incident involved a Mack truck with registration number TTN 372 ZQ. The driver’s identity and address remain unknown.

According to preliminary police investigations, the truck was transporting granite from Ratcon Quarry Company, Ogbere, to Sagamu. The driver reportedly lost control and collided with another unidentified moving truck from the rear. The collision caused severe injuries to the motor boy, while the driver of the unidentified truck fled the scene with his vehicle.

“A team of traffic police officers promptly arrived at the scene. The injured motor boy was rushed to the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, but sadly succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. His body has been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary, Ijebu-Ode, for autopsy,” the police stated.

The Mack truck has been towed to the police station for safekeeping and assessment by the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).

Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the fleeing truck driver, with further updates on the case to follow as investigations progress.
