Omowunmi Adebayo has recently been honoured with the Excellence in Tech award by a Prestigious and Prominent Tech Company and Organisation, Tech Gyant. A recognition that underscores her remarkable contributions to the field of Information Technology in Africa at large. As an Information Technology Programme Manager at Dangote Group, Adebayo’s extraordinary abilities and impactful leadership have transformed the organisation and set new standards for operational efficiency.

One of Adebayo’s most significant achievements has been her leadership in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation at Dangote Group. When she took on this project, the company was grappling with critical challenges such as fragmented processes, inconsistent data management, and inefficiencies across its multiple business units. These issues were stifling growth and hampering operational efficiency. However, under her guidance, the implementation of an integrated ERP system addressed these challenges effectively.

Adebayo’s approach involved streamlining processes by integrating 15 business units into a cohesive ERP platform. This integration led to a remarkable 30 per cent increase in operational efficiency, reducing redundancies and fostering better collaboration among manufacturing plants. Furthermore, she introduced advanced data analytics tools and standardised data management practices, which improved operations by 25 per cent. This enhancement allowed for more informed and strategic planning, overcoming the issues of inconsistent data management that had previously hindered decision-making.

Additionally, at the newly established sugar-producing factory, her introduction of process automation and optimisation techniques resulted in a 20 per cent increase in revenue within the first year of the ERP implementation, alongside a 15 per cent reduction in operational costs.
