The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has offered university sponsorship to a pioneer student of KNOSK N100-a-Day School, Abuja.

She also pledged to facilitate a connection between the school and Nigerians abroad to enable them to offer assistance and support to the institution.

The NiDCOM boss stated this when she visited the institution in Kuje, Abuja.

The Guardian reports that, with this development, the female Senior Secondary School Three (SSS 3) student, Ifeoluwa Vera Oladipupo, becomes the first among the 14 pioneer students to secure a university sponsorship.

Oladipupo had previously showcased an artwork featuring the portrait of the veteran broadcaster from the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), which she had skillfully drawn and presented to her.

The NiDCOM Chairman, after taking a tour of the school’s facilities with its co-founders, Kingsley and Irene Bangwell, committed to utilizing her international connections to secure further assistance for the institution.

Addressing the students, Dabiri-Erewa encouraged them to remain focused, diligent, and committed to their academic pursuits, emphasizing that their hard work and perseverance would ultimately yield rewarding outcomes.

She emphasized the importance of supporting the school and encouraged well-meaning Nigerians and philanthropic organizations to do so by showing compassion and allocating resources to benefit underprivileged children.

“We all need to support this school, and we can. There has to be compassion in everything we do. Instead, for instance, of throwing a party where you spend millions, just take a bit of it and remember children who are not so privileged. It takes a village to raise a child.

“So I would just suggest that, as I’m here today and invite others to come here to know about this school, let it grow so that we can even have much more than you,” she said.

She urged the students to remain committed and diligent, stressing that their hard work and determination would be the key factors in achieving their life ambitions and attaining success.
