NITDA, UK foster collaboration on national cybersecurity

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has fostered its collaboration with the United Kingdom (UK) on national cybersecurity

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) said it has fostered its collaboration with the United Kingdom (UK) on national cybersecurity.

NITDA announced this in a statement on Monday after the Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, welcomed delegates from the UK/Nigeria Inward Cybersecurity Trade Mission, led by the Country Director of the UK’s Department of Business and Trade, Mark Smithson.

“The high-level discussion focused on fostering collaboration on national cybersecurity, aligning with NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) to enhance Nigeria’s cybersecurity resilience and digital trust,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the meeting provided the opportunity to discuss different areas of collaboration, such as National Cybersecurity Architecture (NCA), cybersecurity awareness and sensitisation, capacity building for cybersecurity experts, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), threat intelligence management, zero trust for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and many more.

The DG also seized the opportunity to invite the trade mission to the agency’s upcoming National Cybersecurity Conference, which will provide the opportunity for British cybersecurity companies to engage in partnerships with Nigerian cybersecurity companies.

“This engagement reinforces NITDA’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships that drive innovation, strengthen national cybersecurity posture, and position Nigeria as a key player in the global digital economy,” the statement read.
