
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has dedicated his Sun Newspaper’s 2024 Governor of the Year Award in Agriculture to all the farmers in the country.
He noted that the honour was not only for him but for all the people of Niger State, as well as all farmers across the country. Bago reassured the people of renewed commitment towards achieving the agenda of feeding the nation.
In his remarks, chairman of the occasion/All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, congratulated all the awardees, noting that they were well-deserved. He acknowledged that the awardees have distinguished themselves in their various categories.
While highlighting the critical role Journalism played for Nigeria to gain independence, Ganduje enjoined the pen professionals to focus more on developmental journalism, and always be guided by its ethics.
Some of the awardees were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Governors of Sokoto, Ahmad Aliyu; Plateau, Caleb Mutfwang, and Kogi, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Others included Senator Ali Ndume, Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
