Gwarzo commends Tinubu on Ma’aji’s appointment as NWDC MD

The President and Founder of MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Prof. Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji as the Managing Director of the newly established North-West Development Commission (NWDC).

Prof. Gwarzo gave the commendation last weekend when he received Prof. Ma’aji, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) in Kano.

He praised President Tinubu’s decision to establish the NWDC, describing it as a demonstration of his commitment to inclusive development across Nigeria. He also congratulated Prof. Ma’aji, stating that his appointment was well-deserved given his experience and dedication to regional and national development.

According to Prof. Gwarzo, the appointment of Ma’aji was very significant in view of his experience, track record of service and unwavering commitment to the development of the North-West, Northern region and the entire country.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Prof. Ma’aji to provide the needed leadership that would bring development to the region.

“The establishment of the NWDC will go a long way in transforming the entire region by addressing the challenges bedevilling the critical sectors in the region,” Prof. Gwarzo said.

He further expressed optimism that NWDC would address the multifaceted challenges preventing access to quality learning opportunities to empower the youth to enable them to contribute to the economic growth and development of the North-West.

He, therefore, stressed the need for collaboration between the interventionist commission and his university to ensure the success of the commission.

Earlier in his remark, the NWDC Managing Director, Prof. Ma’aji, praised the founder of the University for his unwavering commitment to promote quality education.

He expressed the readiness of the commission to partner with the university so as to achieve the desired objectives.
