Ex-ANAN president wants banks to open more ATM points

A former President, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Dr. Samuel Nzekwe, has called on Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to encourage banks to open more automated teller machine (ATM) points.

Nzekwe made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun.

He said that opening more ATM points would help banks to serve their customers better.

According to the financial expert, the available ATMs are not sufficient to meet the demands of the huge number of bank customers who withdraw cash on regular basis.

“CBN should encourage banks to open more ATM centres so that their services will be within the reach of their customers,” he said.

Nzekwe also urged CBN to help banks in playing their financial intermediary roles as well as curb financial frauds.

“Banks should also be made to operate in line with CBN guidelines and the law,” he said.
