The Chief Imam of Benin, Mallam Abulfatai Enabulele, has urged wealthy Muslims to extend kindness and share food with the less privileged in the society at Ramadan.

Enabulele made the call on Wednesday in Benin while receiving members of the Edo chapter of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN).

He said that Ramadan was a time for devotion, forgiveness, and charity.

He stressed the importance of emulating Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by practicing good neighbourliness and community support.

“Muslims, especially the rich, should extend kindness and share food with the less privileged so they can also fast,” he said.

Enabulele highlighted the significance of prayer and self-reflection during the holy month.

He urged media practitioners to uphold Islamic values in their reporting and avoid misinformation about the religion.

The renowned Islamic cleric assured the association of his support in promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Islamic matters.

Earlier, the MMPN interim Chairman, Abdullah Abdul-Kadir, said that the visit aimed at strengthening collaboration and fostering a positive narrative about Islam.

He said it was also to address some misconceptions.
