Omisore stresses importance of culture in marriage

A former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has emphasised the significance of promoting and exchanging cultural values and heritage among Africans, especially in marriages.

Omisore also admonished parties in marriages to imbibe the spirit of exercising genuine fear of God and transparent mutual love and respect in their relationship as husbands and wives.

He gave the admonition during the reception for wedding guests of Oluwafunmito, daughter of Prof. Olatunde Babawale, the Provost, ICPC Academy Abuja, in Osogbo, Osun State.

The former deputy governor, who was the chairman of the ceremony, commended Babawale for always according culture its rightful place, noting that he has demonstrated by always holding wedding ceremonies of his children in his home instead of holding them outside his state. Omisore, who noted the beauty of African culture is its diversity, emphasised the increasing need for cultural exchange through inter-cultural marriages.

Dignitaries at the event included ex-minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan; immediate past Chairman of ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye; Mr. Yusuf Olatunji representing the current ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu (SAN); former Deputy Managing Director, Wema Bank, Mr Wole Akinleye; Professors Kayode Oguntuase, Duro Oni, Olatunji Makanju. and Raymond Ogunade.

Other included the traditional ruler of Oke Ila,Osun State, Oba Adedokun Abolarin; the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul Rasheed Olubomi; Olunisa of Inisa, Oba Joseph Oyedele and Olu of Ayepe-Olode Awolowo, Oba Yekini Omisore.
