IWD: Olamide Junaid hailed for leading charge in women empowerment

On this International Women’s Day, we take a moment to celebrate the inspiring contributions of women who are making a significant impact in their communities. One such remarkable individual is Dr. Olamide Balikis Junaid, a humanitarian, life coach, and development advocate known for her tireless work through the Olamide Junaid Foundation.

Junaid in a statement said: “According to this year theme of the International Women’s Day, (For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment), it’s important for us all to encourage women empowerment at all sectors.” The Olamide Junaid Foundation has initiated several impactful programmes aimed at addressing the pressing challenges faced by communities, particularly in Nigeria. One of the foundation’s notable initiatives is the provision of free fuel to transporters in Ibadan. This project has been instrumental in easing the financial burden of rising fuel prices, ensuring that essential transport services remain accessible to the community.

By supporting local transporters, the development advocate not only alleviates immediate economic pressures but also fosters a sense of community solidarity, demonstrating her commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those around her.

In addition to her work in transportation, Junaid is a passionate advocate for education and youth empowerment. The foundation has established scholarship programmes in partnership with Success FM, aimed at providing educational opportunities for school children who may otherwise be unable to afford them.
