The Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, has stated that the innovations introduced by the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, in the institution, will, for a long while, have a positive impact on the specialised university.
According to the traditional ruler, while celebrating Fatusi after the completion of his five-year tenure, the former vice chancellor gave his all towards ensuring that the university achieved the desired growth and expansion.
Oba Kiladejo, who stressed that Fatusi remarkably fostered the relationship between the university and the community, said that the move helped in advancing the institution’s founding vision as well as positioning it as one of the best universities in Nigeria.
The monarch, while describing Fatusi as a “prince” of the Ondo Kingdom, said: “Professor Adesegun Fatusi has left indelible footprints in the sand of time with the unprecedented achievements the university recorded under his watch.
“History and posterity will never forget him, as nobody can erase his remarkable accomplishments.”
On his part, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Health, Prof. Simidele Odimayo, corroborated the position of the Osemawe, saying that “Prof. Fatusi has been exceptional, and as a prince” of the palace, your services will still be required even after leaving.”
Also, former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, who was the pioneer Visitor of UNIMED, said: “The university couldn’t have had a better vice chancellor than Fatusi.
“Fatusi is calm and innovative. He is one man I am ready to go to war with based on his remarkable achievements and honesty of purpose at all times.”
