Taiwo Oluwole Sobiyi honoured with prestigious NICA Fellowship


The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) held its induction ceremony yesterday where it welcomed new members into various categories to further the mission and vision of the institute.

In remarkable recognition of his outstanding career and contributions to the engineering profession, Mr. Taiwo Oluwole Sobiyi, the distinguished engineer and Power and Control Systems Advisor at Chevron Lagos, was again awarded the prestigious Fellowship of NICA, following his recent fellowship of the National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES).

This honour places him among the elite group of top business leaders and professionals who have reached the pinnacle of their careers.

With over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, Sobiyi has consistently demonstrated excellence in his field. A subsea engineer by training, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Master of Business Administration from the Business School of Netherlands. His expertise in power and control systems has been instrumental in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of Chevron’s Agbami FPSO, a critical asset in Nigeria’s energy sector.

Sobiyi’s professional achievements extend beyond his technical roles. He is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), and a recent Fellow of the National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES).

These accolades reflect his commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and leadership in engineering and management.
