The Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yanko Yordanov, has been honored by the Ipinsa community in Ifedore Local Council Area of Ondo State for his support for widows in the community.

While conferring a chieftaincy title on the ambassador, the Akapinsa of Ipinsa, Oba Omoniyi Olufunmilayo, hailed Yordanov’s growing bond with Ipinsa.

The monarch noted that the title “Baba Mayegun,” meaning “Father that makes the world a better place” in Yoruba, reflects the ambassador’s esteemed status.

With Yordanov’s second visit to Ipinsa, following a courtesy visit in Abuja three years ago at the Bulgarian Embassy, the HEART for Widows International, a non-governmental organization, was presented with products from Bulgarian widows produced in Bulgaria.

The USA-based NGO, headquartered in Akure, empowers widows globally through skills training and economic opportunities.

During the event, Yordanov presented donations to 50 widows from the organization, underscoring his commitment to community welfare.

Yordanov expressed gratitude to the monarch and the community for the warm reception, reaffirming Bulgaria’s dedication to fostering progressive partnerships in Nigeria.

The founders of HEART for Widows International and the owners of Akure Airport Hotel, Prince Adetayo Phileo Adesida and Britt Schulze-Adesida, were lauded for empowering widows, particularly with their resolve to employ many widows in order to blend hospitality with social impact.
