EcoFlow debuts to revolutionise Nigeria’s access to reliable power system

A new portable, eco-friendly energy solution, EcoFlow, has been unveiled in Nigeria to enhance access to reliable power and address the country’s energy crisis.

The firm said the sustainable energy innovation is expected to bring easy-to-use, affordable power options to homes, businesses, and communities across Nigeria.

At the launch of the product over the weekend in Lagos, Business Development Manager at EcoFlow Nigeria, Isaiah Umoh, said EcoFlow aims to offer clean, affordable energy solutions tailored to the Nigerian market and provide reliable power access to millions facing persistent energy challenges.

He said EcoFlow’s expansion into Nigeria represented a pivotal moment in the firm’s mission to democratise access to clean, reliable power.

Noting that its solutions are built with Nigerians in mind, Umoh said the move was to make steady power a reality for every Nigerian to support local communities, and align with national sustainability goals.

According to him, EcoFlow’s technology aligns with the growing trend of off-grid and undergrid minigrids, which are crucial for building a decentralised and resilient energy system in Nigeria.

“Having already empowered over five million users across over 140 global markets, EcoFlow’s expansion into Nigeria represents a pivotal moment in addressing the country’s energy crisis.

“Their portable power stations, smart solar technology, and portable home battery provide a cleaner, quieter, efficient alternative to traditional fuel-based generators, which are noisy, polluting, and costly.

“EcoFlow’s strategic entry comes at a critical time. With just over 4,000 megawatts supplying nearly 220 million people, Nigeria’s electricity access deficit stands at about 40%. Moreover, the persistent power issues are costing the economy an estimated $26 billion annually, according to the Africa Trade Barometer report by Standard Bank.

“In a market where power reliability is a constant challenge, many households and businesses turn to traditional gas-fueled generators or conventional UPS battery systems as backup solutions. But these options come with significant drawbacks—high costs, frequent maintenance, and limited functionality. But imagine a different reality: steady, silent, eco-friendly power. That’s what EcoFlow is bringing to the table, and it’s a breath of fresh air,” he said.

The Guardian gathered that the EcoFlow launch event offered attendees a unique opportunity for hands-on demonstrations of the RIVER 3 Max Plus and EcoFlow’s best-selling product range.

At the event, participants explored eco-friendly solutions, including the RIVER 2 Pro, DELTA 2, and DELTA 2 Max, through engaging and interactive experiences.

“This strategic market entry reinforces EcoFlow’s dedication to supporting Nigeria’s transition towards a carbon-neutral economy, advancing the renewable energy sector while simultaneously addressing the nation’s persistent energy challenges,” Umoh added.
