
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President, who praised Bamigbetan for his “unique interest in community development and promotion of inclusivity,” commended his dedication to journalism, governance, and grassroots development.
“The President joins the family, friends, and associates of the renowned journalist, publisher, and political consultant in celebrating the milestone, already marked by many notable achievements and recognitions,” the statement read.
Tinubu, while highlighting Bamigbetan’s media influence, acknowledged his role in fostering better communication between the government and the public through his platform, Echonews.
He also commended Bamigbetan’s extensive career in media and politics, noting his pivotal roles as a former chairman and vice chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Press Secretary, and Special Adviser to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, as well as celebrating Bamigbetan’s willingness to “continuously serve in leadership positions.”
