In a strategic move, the Katsina State government is hosting the ambassadors of nine countries, as well as the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Gautier Mingot.

Mingot, who came with his wife, Tatiana Ogliastri, also has the envoys of Bulgaria, Belgium, Finland, Portugal and Serbia, Yanko Yardano, Pieter Leenknegt, Sanna Selin, Paulo Martins Dos Santos, and Jugoslav Vukadinovic, in the state.

The rest are the Mexican Ambassador to Nigeria, Juan Alfredo Miranda Ortiz, his wife, Maria; that of Ireland, Peter Ryan and his wife, Teresa; those of Poland, Michael Cygan, his wife, Diala Slayman; and that of Vietnam, Bu Quoc Hung, and wife, Nguyen Dieu Linh.

The diplomats, who have been in the state since Sunday, are being entertained at the yearly Sallah Durbar at the old Government House, Katsina, at press time.
