Precious Kate, a community advocate, has donated food items to the indigents in the Osapa-Jakande axis of Lekki, in commemoration of Eid al-Fitr.
The donation, which included Iftar meals and Eid Mubarak food packages, aimed to provide support to those in need during the Ramadan fasting period and Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
This initiative ensured that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, could partake in the blessings and joy of the season.
In a statement, Kate stressed the importance of kindness and generosity, particularly during significant cultural and religious celebrations.
She stated, “Eid al-Fitr is a time of joy, reflection, and giving. It is essential that we extend kindness to those in need, ensuring that they also experience the happiness that comes with this season.”
The community advocate also stressed the need for ongoing support, encouraging individuals and organisations to extend help to those in need throughout the year.
She noted, “Giving should not be limited to special occasions alone. True compassion is about making a difference in people’s lives every day. If we all contribute in our little ways, we can create a society where no one goes to bed hungry.”
The donation was well-received by the beneficiaries, who expressed their gratitude for the support.
Abdulrahman Musa, one of the recipients, commended the initiative, saying, “This gesture means a lot to me and my family. With the rising cost of food, celebrating Eid seemed impossible, but thanks to Madam Kate’s generosity, we can now have a proper meal to mark the occasion.”
Aminat Bello, a mother of three, also shared her appreciation, stating, “Eid is a time of happiness, but many of us struggle to provide for our families. Seeing someone like her step in to help brings so much relief and joy to our hearts. This act of kindness will forever be remembered.”
